Asiden puts a 3D AI companion beside the things you do on your Windows 11 PC. You can type or speak, build memories through conversation, and choose whether your companion can see your screen.
Start with the short product demonstration, then follow this walkthrough. Asiden is early access, so model responses and screen understanding can still make mistakes.
1. Check your PC, download and activate
Check the Windows and GPU requirements before buying. The published minimum is Windows 11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, an NVIDIA GPU with 8 GB VRAM and 25 GB free space. Additional models need more room.
The direct website version costs $10 once during early access. Buy the Unlock, keep the key emailed to you, and get the installer from the official download section. It publishes the current version and SHA-256 checksum. Run the signed installer, then enter your key when the app asks you to unlock it.
Keep an internet connection during activation and first setup. Asiden checks your hardware and offers suitable local model choices; downloads may take time. If setup cannot complete, use Save diagnostic report and contact Asiden support. Review a report before sharing it.
2. Choose a character and personality
Pick a 3D companion: Mei, Lily, Jae or Sasha. Each has a signature personality. You can also choose from ten further personality presets or use the custom personality wizard. See the companion introductions to get a feel for them.
Appearance, personality and memories are separate. Changing a look is different from deliberately choosing another personality, and learning about you is not intended to change that personality. Custom personality authoring can use a local model; cloud authoring uses the selected cloud service.
3. Choose local or optional cloud processing
Local chat uses a language model installed on your PC. After activation and setup, you can keep talking offline without a daily message allowance. A smaller model generally needs fewer resources; a larger one may answer differently but also take longer or need more video memory.
Open Settings to choose your chat model and optional cloud features. Managed cloud models, vision and voice need internet access, an eligible plan and Sparks. These choices are separate: using cloud chat does not require you to send voice or images to cloud services. Compare plans and Spark usage and read what each cloud request can contain.
4. Talk through text or voice
Double-click the companion to open chat. Type a message and send it; the chat window also gives you access to Settings. Start with something ordinary, such as introducing yourself or describing what you are working on.
Prefer a chat-only experience? In Settings > 3D Model, turn off Show 3D model. Chat stays on screen so you can always reach Settings and turn the model back on. Text and voice remain available.
For voice input, enable the microphone in Settings, choose the right device and use push-to-talk or hands-free mode. Push-to-talk is useful while a game or video is playing because speaker audio can otherwise be mistaken for your speech. You can use text without a microphone and adjust spoken output separately.
Local speech processing works on your PC after its components are installed. If you choose cloud voice, reply text is sent for speech generation. Use Pause when you want the companion to stop listening, watching and replying.
5. How conversation becomes memory
Asiden looks for useful information in what you share, such as a person’s name, an interest or an ongoing project. It saves memories locally and retrieves relevant information for later replies. You do not need to paste your whole history into every conversation.
For example, you might mention a project today and ask about it tomorrow. That is the intended continuity, not a promise that every detail or date will be recalled correctly. Models can misunderstand, omit a fact or make an unsupported claim.
Use the memory controls to inspect what has been learned and reset a companion’s memory if you want a fresh start. A reset removes that companion’s learned history. Switching to cloud chat can send relevant saved memories as part of a prompt; local storage and cloud context are different choices.
6. Choose when to share your screen or game
Screen awareness is optional. You can select a region with the snipping control to ask about something specific, or enable ongoing vision awareness in Settings. Share the part that matters: a game scene, a page you are reading or a problem you want to discuss.
Local vision processes observations on your PC. Cloud vision sends selected images and text to the chosen provider route. Game recognition and available game knowledge help ground conversation, but coverage varies by game and visible detail. Asiden cannot guarantee correct tactics, read every interface, or know something that is not available in its context.

7. Set how often your companion speaks first
Proactive Chattiness adjusts unprompted conversation from Reserved to Non-stop, with intermediate settings including Adaptive. Vision settings control whether and how often the companion looks at your screen.
Start low if you prefer to initiate conversations. Increase attention if you want more commentary while working or playing. Timing is a model judgement and will not always be right; use Pause whenever you want quiet. More frequent local processing uses your PC’s resources, and more frequent cloud requests can use more Sparks.
8. Understand the privacy choice
Local chat, speech and vision can keep conversation content on your PC. Optional managed cloud features send the data needed for their requests through Asiden’s proxy and the selected provider. Cloud chat may include relevant memories and enabled screen context, not just the latest typed message.
Return each feature to local if you want its future AI requests to stay on-device. Purchases, activation, updates and web searches still need internet access. The offline feature checklist explains the boundary without needing to understand the underlying software.
9. Get updates and help
Use the official Windows download for the current website installer and check recent product changes. Keep a backup of local data that matters to you. For questions, use the Asiden Discord or email support.
